Year 9 Wednesday 16/3: The Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan

1. There wasn't much of a epicenter of the Earth quake because there has been 400 after shocks all on the eastern side mainly around the fukkashima daiachi and neighboring power plants. The main earthquake was a magnitude of 9.0. The epicenter was around the Nuclear power plants of fukushima daiiachi, fukushima daiani, Onogawa, Tokai. Fukushima Daiiachi was hit the hardest.
2. The Maximum Quake was 9.0 Magnitude and the min 4.0 the average quake size was 7.5 Magnitude.
3. The most effected areas are the Eastern side by the Nuclear Power Plants because the Earthquake was off the coast creating the tsunami which came in and destroyed thousands of houses and buildings. Some of the villages have been completely wiped out by the tsunami completely This is a link to an animation of the devastation
4. The imposing man made disaster is that the reactors in the Nuclear reactors mainly Fukushima Daiiachi which has 6. One has cracked another has had a hydrogen explosion another has no water. So from these destruction they might explode and the radiation levels has already increased so if a meltdown occurs then it might be like a second Chernobyl.
